2-3 prenatal meetings, on-call 24/7 from 37 weeks, attending labour, 1 long postpartum visit, also includes unlimited phone/email contact during day hours and preparation of the birth plan if desired.
Extensive research had shown time and time again that having the continuous support of a doula during the birthing process has multiple benefits for both mother and baby. It reduces the risk of every major intervention such as the use of forceps, the need for pain medications and the need for C-sections. It improves the mother's satisfaction with her birth experience and increases the chances of successful breastfeeding relationships.
As your doula, I meet with you 2-3 times during your pregnancy to get to know you better, to discuss your hopes for the birth, your priorities and expectations, and answer your questions with regards to your pregnancy, birth and my role in it. Starting from 37 weeks I stay on call for you and am available 24/7 in the event of your labour starting. When you are in labour I will stay with you through the duration of labour and a few hours after it, providing you with physical comfort, and emotional and informational support. I will visit you at your home very soon after discharge to help you begin breastfeeding. Although I am not acting in a clinical role (like your doctor or a midwife) I bring with me knowledge and experience gained while working in different roles, including a clinical one (student midwife), which allows me to better understand the circumstances of your labour and react accordingly.
Breastfeeding Consultation in The Comfort of Your Home

Breastfeeding is a very natural and rewarding process that acts as the foundation for your baby's health for the rest of their life. However, it is also a learned skill that both mother and baby need to develop in order to achieve the desired results. To some, the skill comes easily while others find the process more difficult. Research indicates that timely intervention and support are essential in overcoming breastfeeding challenges and developing a positive mother/baby relationship.
My breastfeeding consultation services are offered in the comfort of your home. Your consultation will not only be comfortable but also take into account your home environment to better help you establish successful breastfeeding. If need be, we will troubleshoot any issues that arise so you have the tools to feel independent and positive about your breastfeeding. Visits are not charged per hour, I will spend as long as you need for all concerns to be resolved. Some families only need one feed, other families need me to stay for several.

Private sessions are tailored to each family's needs. Covers labour physiology, coping strategies, interventions and early postpartum / breastfeeding.
For most families, pregnancy is an exciting time filled with anticipation, many questions, and sometimes with anxiety about what the future holds. While nobody can predict the future, anxiety can be alleviated with information. In this 15-hour prenatal series, you will learn about: what you might expect during labour,- tips and tricks that will help you to cope with intense sensations of labour, evidence-based information about medical procedures surrounding the birthing process - useful pointers on taking care of mom and baby in those first weeks after birth including and very detailed focus on breastfeeding.
